This Week's Column
1) Radioactive materials have been diffused over East Japan after the Fukushima nuclear plant accident. Many Japanese are concerned about them. They have risk of causing cancer, and we need to be cautious.
However, negative effects to human health by these materials are limited, from what has been observed to date. GEPR editorial staffs provides a column "Comparing Risks of Everyday Lives to Radiation Risks"
It compares radiation risk to risks in daily life in Japan, such as smoking or diet. We should consider risks in such comparisons. Further, visualizing radiation and other risks are effective in removing the fear.(English translation coming soon)
