This Week's Column:
1)Professor Takamitsu Kohzuma, College of Science, Ibaraki University, has measured the amount of radiation in various areas since the nuclear accident at Fukushima, and he has given 110 lectures to the public. GEPR editorial staffs have deep respects for his effort.
He contributed a column "Lectures on radiation in daily lives" (English Translation coming soon). He points out it is important to “think together" in risk communication from his own experiences.
2)By the Chernobyl accident in 1986 at the Soviet Union, radioactive materials spread in Europe. GEPR editorial staffs research the public action in Sweden.
“How to protect the society from radioactive contamination? " (English translation coming soon).
Swedish Government's report points out that it is necessary to balance costs and benefits in order to take measures to protect society from radioactivity, and that communication is important in the public action.
This Week's Report
Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology released information about radioactivity monitoring in this site.
It is highly unlikely that there will be any health damages with current level of radiation.
